Here are some pictures from that day when Cameron and I got married. The wedding was held at the Glades in South Surrey, this is where my dad works and it is a truly magical place. He spent a lot of time before the wedding making sure everything looked perfect—that all the trails were cleared of debris, every leaf in place. Then the morning of the wedding the lower mainland experienced the worst wind storm in a decade! The power went out everywhere, including the garden. Guests were trapped in their driveways by fallen trees and our photographer saw a branch fall on the car in front of her while driving on the highway. The picture below is the scene that greeted us when we got to the garden.
There were a few stressful hours before the wedding but in the end everything worked out: there was a generator at the garden so we were able to have light and music and warm drinks, our guests all managed to make it safely, the wind died down and the sun even came out for a bit. Our wedding was small, relaxed and even had a piñata—it was everything we wanted it to be.
Just a few thank yous:
To Jim & Elfride for letting us use the Glades.
To our photographer Taylor Roads for the beautiful pictures.
To Tania Martins of Markoo for designing my dress.
To Becki Chan for making our wedding bands.
To Local Omnivore for the delicious taco dinner
To Ken Tsui for all the food tips.
To Meaghan Kennedy for making our faces into a piñata.
To our families for all their help getting ready.
Most importantly, thanks to all our guests for coming to celebrate with us!
